Kawasaki stopped manufacture of the classically styled, Vulcan 1500 Drifter in 2005. With the introduction of the Vulcan 900 Series in 2006, Kawasaki also discontinued two more, extremely popular Vulcan models. Namely, the VN800A (first manufactured in 1995), and the VN800B Classic model, which was first introduced in 1996. Since then, the Vulcan 900 series has cornered the midsize cruiser class. Plus, with a great range of Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Classic Motorcycle Parts and accessories available, this bike has to be a top choice for riders who are looking to customize. However, it is the ‘all new’ 1700cc cruiser, that is destined to move Kawasaki out of the shadows, and into the limelight. With regards to the “Big Bore” market. It includes clothing and travelling gear, windshields and luggage seats. Perfect for riders who want their power and chrome, delivered with “Bad Boy” styling. As well as being able to enjoy some long haul comfort. The basic Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Classic comes in cool and classic “Metallic Diablo” Black. Sweet… The new Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Classic is the latest addition, to the evolution of Kawasaki “Big Bore” cruisers. In comparison to the Vulcan 1600, this bike features some significant upgrades. The Vulcan 1700 Classic has a fuel injected, 4 Stroke, liquid cooled, 1700cc, 103.7 cubic inch, 52° SOHC, V-Twin Engine. The new mill on the Vulcan 1700 series is not a ‘tinkered’ version of the old 1552cc, Vulcan 1600’s. It is completely new. Kawasaki state that the engine offers 20% more horsepower, over the 1600 series. And, with a single overhead cam, boasting superior acceleration, the Vulcan 1700 can deliver all the power a rider needs. Without doubt, ride this big bore cruiser, and you will be feeling that awesome, V Twin, rumble in the jungle. Kawasaki state, that the engine in the Vulcan 1700 is ‘vaguely’ based upon the Vulcan 2000, which is the giant in the Vulcan series. Saying that, there are two main differences. The Vulcan 1700’s ‘bore and stroke’ engine has a 102mm bore, same as the V1600. Although, the stroke was increased to 104mm; 9mm up on the V1600 series. The other big difference? The V1600 has a single overhead cam, with four valves per cylinder. The V2000 engine uses pushrods. The Vulcan 1700 also features a carbon fibre belt, which delivers greater efficiency and power to rear wheel. With 6-Speed transmission, owners can also look forward to increased fuel mileage. Kawasaki state, the Vulcan 1700 offers a “Level of performance the competition can’t touch”. Bold statement, but justified.
